Chris Collins

Chris Collins is a trainer with TFP and a regular contributor to the Letting Update Journal. Following military service she put down roots in North Wales and began a new career in property. Starting as a lettings negotiator, Chris soon discovered a flair and passion for property and people culminating in promotion to MD of an award winning independent company. She retired earlier this year after 23 years in the business to concentrate more on training.

David d'Orton Gibson

David has worked for many years in the letting industry and has first-hand experience of most roles involved in lettings. For the last 23 years, he has worked full time running training and consultancy for landlords and agents throughout England and Wales. He teaches public courses as well as running In House courses for local authorities, letting agents, landlord associations, housing associations, colleges and other bodies.

Widely respected for his technical knowledge and teaching style, David combines an authoritative understanding of the legal framework with practical suggestions on working with people and presents in an engaging style.

Stephen Fowler

Stephen practised in various aspects of landlord and tenant law, owned and led a property management business and is an experienced trainer. Stephen writes for the private rented sector, produces courses and provides in house consultancy for agencies, local authorities and associations. Stephen is also an executive director of a charity working in the homeless sector.

Andrew Sainsbury

Andrew has worked in residential lettings for most of his career. After finishing university, he cut his teeth at a large national chain, before moving on to join a start-up agency in the East Midlands in 2005. Later, he was pivotal in opening their second branch in Leeds and is now a Director and part owner of the same highly regarded firm. Andrew combines his passion for keeping up to date with the latest legislation with his knowledge of the practical issues of property management.

Nick Sharp

Nick worked in the lettings industry for 17 years as a Property Manager & Branch Manager in London and Dorset, before joining TFP to further his interest in the technical aspects of the industry. Nick will be focusing on the TFP Helpline, the running of training courses and additional projects related to new legislation.

Adrian Thompson

Adrian is chairman of the Guild of Residential Landlords, a national landlords association. Adrian is also a landlord in his own right, managing a reasonably sized portfolio of properties. Adrian has worked in the lettings industry his entire working life and understands the practical realities of renting. Adrian is keen to help good landlords stand out from others which is why he has developed (in partnership with Training for Professionals) the Private Rented Sector Accreditation Scheme(PRSAS) which offers a nationally recognisable badge allowing accredited landlords to stand out. Adrian also speaks at many events and undertakes training for landlords and letting agents throughout England and Wales on all subjects relating to residential renting.

Hugh White

After starting working for the Royal Navy in logistics,  Hugh became a landlord and then a letting agent. Very early on, he discovered Training for Professionals and did all the formal training with TFP. The mixture of formal training and real life experience give Hugh knowledge and real-life anecdotes and experiences as an agent and a landlord to share. Having recently sold the lettings agency, Hugh have more time to pursue training and answering the helpline.

Nigel Pope

Nigel has been in the property industry since 1990 and set up his own letting agency in 1994. Quickly recognising the ongoing need for improvement and training, Nigel was a regular user of all of TFP’s services. After successfully merging his property business in 2015, he has now moved away from full time work in the day to day processes so he can now concentrate on providing industry training, whilst volunteering on various sporting committee’s in Kent.

Richard Pullin

Richard has worked in the Property Industry since 1994. Until 2016 he owned and ran a successful Lettings Agency in the South West before taking the decision to sell and focus on his own small property portfolio. Richard joined the helpline in 2018 and enjoys working with TFP clients to resolve property management issues as well as staying conversant with the latest legislation affecting the Industry.

Tony Wilson

Tony’s career before joining the Training for Professionals Team, started in 1987 as a letting consultant for a large independent letting agency in Bournemouth progressing to the role of Poole Office branch manager, responsible for a sizeable letting and property management team, following a corporate acquisition of the business then asked to set up and run a large regional property management centre. During his time in the industry Tony has acquired a wide range of customer service and management experience, overseen the introduction and implementation of the many changes to residential letting regulations and procedures. He has brought his wide-ranging knowledge and experience to benefit our TFP clients on training courses and the helpline.
